CS/2 regulation: How to wire? How to adjust the flow?

Edited

As a reminder, (as summarized in this article) whatever your hardware, the steps to commission a pressurized system with DualSun SPRING panels are as follows:

  • Filling with water

  • Glycol filling

  • Pressure adjustment

  • Flow adjustment

  • Setting the back-up

The Flow Adjustment step is based on what regulation is supplied with the system. We detail below the steps to follow for the CS/2 solar regulation.

1- Regulation wiring

The panel outlet temperature sensor (S1) must be connected to terminal S1: on terminals numbered 1 and 2 in the diagram below (regardless of their polarity).

The panel outlet temperature sensor (S2) must be connected to terminal S2: on terminals numbered 3 and 4 in the diagram below (regardless of their polarity).

Relay R1 must be connected to the power supply via terminals numbered 17 and 18 on the diagram below, and to the PWM1 signal via terminal 1 of the PWM output.

2 - Flow adjustment

  • Remove the flexible pipes from the solar station

  • Place the adjustment valve on the flow meter in a vertical position

The pump group is now ready for flow adjustment.Check on the transfer unit manual on which edge to read the flow rate value. The flow rate is read on the lower edge of the float.

Direction d’écoulement = liquid flow direction

Robinet à Bille ouvert = ball valve open

Flow adjustment is carried out in three steps.

  1. Put the solar control in forced circulation

  • Press button (1) several times until you reach the end of the drop-down parameters

  • Long press button (1)

  • Press the button (1) several times until the menu HND

  • Press the button (3) to select the menu HND

  • Press button (1) or (2) to switch the circulator from mode AUTO in fashion ON

  • Remove the solar station cover

  • Read the hydraulic flow using the flow meter (10)

  1. Pump Circulation Speed Changes

This step is optional : read the flow rate value in forced circulation. If the flow rate value is 2 times greater than the expected value, then the circulation speed of the pump must be modified (follow the following steps). Otherwise, go directly to step 3

It is important to reduce the circulation speed of the pump to improve its life. For this it is necessary to force the circulation using the manual mode of the regulation.

  • Press button (1) several times until you reach the end of the drop-down parameters

  • Long press button (1)

  • Press the button (1) several times until the menu nMX

  • Press the button (3) to select the menu nMX

  • Press button (1) or (2) to change the maximum value of the circulator from 100 to 70% of its maximum value

  • Similarly, setting the menu nMN over 30%

  • Set menu HND on AUTO (asexplain previously)

  1. Flow reduction using the flow meter needle

Once the circulation speed has been reduced using the regulation, it is necessary to carry out a finer adjustment of the flow by closing the ball valve of the flow meter. The latter activates a valve that will reduce the flow.
